International Relations Club and Model UN Club
One of the videos I made for the Reves Center, I think that this may be my favorite video I have produced for them. The International Relations (IR) Club and Model UN at William and Mary are pretty well known. They have this aura of knowledge and wisdom surrounding them and some are intimidated by them. What I tried to achieve through this video is to show a softer side of the IR Club and Model UN by focusing on the friendships and learning that occurs.

Cooking Up
In Fall 2013, I was enrolled in a class entitled "Video Production." We had a number of projects ranging from a re-cut trailer to a character profile. In my video production class I learned the importance of lighting and sound. I was exposed to the different types of microphones and even learned how to set up a lighting kit.
Our final assignment was to make a short movie about anything we wanted. After brainstorming with my group, we came up with the idea of two guy friends talking about the night before. One guy tells his friend about a crazy night and how things started heating up. The guy is talking about how he and a girl cooked a meal, but his friend thinks that he means something else. Through the short film, we poked fun at the use of euphemisms in everyday speech.
As a group we wrote the script in a day and helped with different aspects of the production. My main responsibility was the set design and finding a location to film. The biggest challenge for me was to figure out how to achieve mood lighting that made the space look "sexy", but keeping it bright enough so that the footage was usable.

Behind the Scenes at James Jeans
A product of my internship with MBC, this video is one of my favorite pieces just because of all the hard work I put into it. I was given an assignment to make a short video on any topic I wanted to. While I have a number of ideas floating around in my head, I struggled to find a subject because I am not fluent in Korean and had very little contacts in Korea. I finally decided on making a short video on a behind the scenes look of a clothing store sale.
After three days of filming, I had more than 5 hours of footage that I packaged into an 8 minute video. This project really tested me technologically. Prior to this project, I had never done a voice-over or edited on Final Cut Pro. However, this project taught me how to record audio and sync it properly to the footage and I taught myself how to use Final Cut Pro by watching videos on Youtube. While I learned a lot about editing platforms and the technology side of production, I also learned more about the logistics. Even though I was told to make a short video, I remember filming as much as I can and even filming when it seemed like nothing was happening. I learned that it is always better to have more footage than not enough.

Reves Hall: W&M's international living-learning community
One of the first videos for the Reves Center for International Studies, I filmed and edited this video with little to no experience. I filmed on a Canon Vixia and edited the footage on iMovie. While not my favorite work, I do like to watch from time to time to see how much progress I have made since this video. Further more, after watching this video, I try to learn more filming techniques so I do not get stuck in a certain formula with my work.
